It's hard to ignore the energy that has enveloped St. Louis as our
charming city has experienced an incredible renaissance with no slow
down in sight. A vital part of this transformation has been the return
of young professionals that both live and work in the region. In an
effort to celebrate and raise awareness about St. Louis' resurgence,
FOCUS St. Louis is facilitating more than 40 young professional organizations
synchronizing their efforts in October to reach out to those members of
the community that are not aware of the opportunities to get involved.
"Connect With . . . " aims to showcase all the interesting and unique
facets of St. Louis, whether it is arts and culture, community service,
diversity initiatives, professional development or networking. It's a
groundbreaking effort that St. Louisans should be proud of. We chose paper
dolls to symbolize this spirit of collaboration and connection because we
must all work together and take ownership of St. Louis in order to ensure
its continued growth.
Get out. Make a new friend. Make a difference. Become part of the fabric
of your city.

Featured Story:

About a year ago, when the United Way GenNext program was forming and I was asked to participate, I had no idea that my involvement in the organization would provide me with not only a network of contacts, but a network of friends. I am currently job searching and have had various amounts of help from GenNext members. Perhaps more importantly than the help of finding a job, is seeing friendly faces at meetings of people who always ask how things are going with me. I am truly thankful for my involvement in GenNext and the friends I have made there.
